Well, you won't get an antitaping reason out of me, since (as I've said before) as a player in a tournament, I've an interest in going home with a transcript or a tape of my matches, and that interest, I believe, outweighs any justification I've ever seen put forth for allowing players to forbid recording.

A couple of observations:

(1) The players who have said that a opponent ought to be allowed to be object tend to say "I would never object but ... "

(2) I've never heard anyone suggest that an opponent ought to be allowed to forbid recording if the director is the one ordering the recording.

Together, these observations suggest to me that the reasons that somebody might have for objecting aren't very strong.
