What about buying a bye?

Seems like a good idea Phil. Even if it can only be used in certain cases.

I can see why having a power of 2 number of entrants in elimination events is desirable. But didn't - and still dont - understand the problems with adding extras on the fly when the numbers aren't near a power of 2. But Jeb and other experienced TDs say its a problem so i'm sure it is.
