How do you maximize contact?

More or less at a glance I made the five point which I felt would have been my OTB play. XG confirms this as being the best play. In that lesser mortals don't have the vast play experience to arrive at plays with aplomb, I wondered what my thought processes were. The first thing I noticed was that white could make his five point with nine rolls at 25% or his four-point with four rolls at 11%. I guess I then noticed that blue was in a losing position. Blue was always going to be in contact but his timing would be the real issue in order to maintain a decent home board. The man on the bar has a high latent timing value and hiding it away on the one point is not a good idea. Then perhaps I noticed that making the five point puts an armlock on whites six rolls improving blues chances of a hit. In analysis mode I counted a few rolls and smiled. It was not until I had put it through XG that I noticed blues 9-to-5 play. I did wonder for a moment if this could be a fault on another day but felt that making whites five point and the benefits obtained was so strong and solved two problems was the strength of the play. An understanding of roll odds and a real appreciation of timing saves the day. The features used are , roll odds, event in N rolls, ROT for making a point, blocking 6's and timing and my natural brilliance lol. Mr Chow accused me of concocting solutions having obtained the correct play from XG. We all have our wishes lol. An interesting problem using many tools that is if you got em. I have reread this and guess as usual I will not be making any friends. In that I am so willing to share my thoughts and methods I guess the adverse reaction to my posts is a human
