Evidently, it can also be important to know that your opponent doesn't know endgames!

Robertie's 501 Problems gives a rule of thumb that the doubling window for this kind of endgame occurs when the difference between the number of checkers borne off is about 5. Here, the difference between the number of checkers borne off is 4, so I can see how someone might think that's in pass territory.

Remove Blue's checker on his 5pt and it does become a pass, even ATS.
