My main priority is to escape back checkers. If they get primed, we're done. It's a gold opportunity to go with the 18pt. Our 9pt blot is not a big problem. Opp's frontal position is stripped, so if he hits, we have time to enter. Also, he will disconnect his 24pt. checkers that way.

Hitting on 12 or 13 pts. doesn't deal with our main problem, and attacks when we're not likely to succeed. A return hit is likely to be followed by priming 4 (or 5) of our checkers.
