Dell Intel Quad Core w/monitor for $679 - question

I'm thinking about buying another computer just for rollouts (currently using a dual-core for rollouts and home use). In this case I would use a cheap monitor (or more likely a KVM switch), use the onboard video, get at most 1 GB RAM (I have yet to notice gnubg get anywhere near that), get the best quad available, install Linux, and run the multi-threaded version of gnubg. Save several hundred dollars by avoiding the monitor, excessive RAM, fancy video card, and a commercial operating system. A basic Linux install is pretty easy and though getting the multithreaded gnubg working on it can require some extra effort, the mailing list and this board would be very helpful. I'm currently doing rollouts with gnubg on Debian Linux which was easy for me to set up but that's what I do.
And then there's also the thought of a Beowulf cluster of quads doing rollouts ...
