can you give an example of a checker play you would actually play differently based on that knowledge?

Suppose you hollowed out the pips on the "3" side of each of a pair of dice and filled them with lead. You found that this made the chance of rolling a "4" twice as likely as rolling any other individual number. Knowing this, how would you play the following position when your modified dice are being used?

Unlimited Game

Blue is Player 1
