This is the sort of position where, in practice, Blue must not only double, but must double without thinking for more than a second or two. If you double rapidly, it increases your chances of getting a drop. As Blue, you should have already prepared psychologically a turn or two ago to double immediately once a position like this one arises. If your opponent knows you are a strong player and you stop to think about this position, then your opponent is going to realize that taking is at least plausible (since Blue obviously can't be thinking about whether he's too good), and you don't want to leak that information.
