While I agree with a couple people here that there are instances you should double quickly (or I prefer forcefully or confidently rather than quickly or automatically it all amounts to the same) the position before this didn't give us a window into this position. I can't remember it exactly but it was something I had to think long about because it was such an obvious take I feared doubling unlike this where everyone agrees, passing is very possible. I doubled, opponent took. I never picked up the second checker and I barely had anyone off before I was being redoubled and passing.
