Our timing seems much better, so I'd make the 8 and wait for him to break the board.

Making the 4 leaves him many opportunities to roll a 66 or hit a fly shot with 6x. He'll likely have a strong board when he leaves a shot with a forced run later, too, so a loose hit on the guy left behind will carry a risk, too.
