I agree with going for two in situation 1 and for the reason given. I've seen this happen a few times though and the NFL team always went for 1. I think they are thinking "don't take a chance at ruining our momentum by missing the 2 pointer right away"

For the 2nd scenario suppose it is 40% success rate for going for two and 100% success rate going for one? What then?
