Your logic does not work. The following is a counterexample to your claim. You may say that such a situation could never come up in backgammon but your attempted proof does not address that.

Suppose that at the time of B's roll that B's win percentage is 50%. The results of every one of B's rolls maintains the game at 50%. Then on player A's roll it is a one roll position with A either winning or losing with 50% chance of each.
Player B did have a market losing sequence and his opponent the turn before could have had no market losing sequence. However B's choice of no - double is correct (optional double).
