Do you see the "timing" factor as deciding, too?
Or is it the gammon losses that clouds everything else?

By timing I mean, that he can expose from his deep outfield anchor soon enough. We can wait and build, then we can break one of the anchors and wait a bit more. Counting on his early exposure seems thematic for a high backgame like this.
