Backgame ace to play

Isn't white going to "basically blot outside to further clearing with impunity" anyway? Even if blue plays 4/3 with the ace and then white rolls a 53, I would play the 53 9/4 8/5, not 9/1. My thought here is there is still a lot of game to play, maybe.

My play with the ace is 7/6, by the way.
