You can connect on skype, share your screen, and she can tell you her moves.

Definitely not the experience I'm looking for. I want her to move her own checkers.

Or, if you use joinme (which I do) you can open xg and you can share your mouse so she can make her moves when it is her turn.

This is better, but it's still not the experience I want. First of all, it still needs to be an app. She uses an iPad all the time, but doesn't have a computer. Finally, we do need to be able to play turn-based, since it's hard to sync up schedules.
