Monte Carlo

My dad and I are staying at the Hotel Alexandra in MC, which is not cheap (145 Euros nightly) but is much less expensive than the Fairmont. It's 3 stars. The rooms are nice and the hotel is a five-minute walk to (ten-minute walk from) the tournament site. You could share one of these rooms (we are sharing), but the beds will be really close together (they have the European setup where the beds can be made up as one or two.)

Another good mid-priced option might be the Novotel.

The popular budget option is the Hotel Diana, which two years ago cost around 60 Euros a night. The Diana is pretty far from the playing venue, and the rooms are really small and depressing. The room I saw was dark, had broken furniture, featured a view into a brick wall and you could step directly from the bed into the tiny shower. Still, for those planning to spend all their time in the playing room this appears to be the best cheap option. I don't know if this hotel has rooms large enough for sharing.

I don't know anything about lodgings in Cannes, but if you find anything please post the information--
