I would be in support of touch moves.

I'm curious how it would be ruled if a match is not being recorded, and a player is shuffling his checkers around, loses track of what the original position is. His opponent points out the original position. The checker shuffler doesn't think that's the original position, but also isn't exactly sure of it himself. How does the TD rule here. Or what if both players are adamant on two different positions?

I like the offset rule. I think it helps. But just because the checkers are offset, it doesn't guarantee that they'll go back to the correct positions.
