Another problem with using tablets is that they are not spectator friendly. Watching top-level play is instructive and entertaining and a big draw for attending live play.

There's just something strange about having a room full of players hunched over laptops. Surely chess players don't do that, I hope. And no one would dream of doing it at the WPT.
