My statement was only with regard to putting the final version up for public comment. Anything posted prior to that point is clearly not a comment about that document, and anyone was free to repost, or email to Rich, anything they still felt strongly about.

I expect that past feedback on this forum was considered in the original development of the 2016 rules. I was not involved, so I have no idea how thoroughly they may have researched the forum, or how seriously they may have considered what they found.

As I understand it, the charter for the 2017 effort was to keep the rules essentially the same, and focus more on the document (primarily length and clarity). If I'm correct about that, there would be minimal value in spending a lot of time going through old posts.

Regarding the old headphones poll, again, I was not involved. But I expect that rationalization was more part of the original effort than "new" information considered during the public comment period.
