A less expensive hotel in MC is the Palais Joséphine -- apartments/suites have good rates, I've seen quoted 120 euro per night per unit for 4 persons, and 188 euro per night per unit for 6 persons:

Adagio City Aparthotel Monaco Palais Joséphine Beausoleil; 2A, Av. du Général de Gaulle, Beausoleil, 06240.

Note: it's probably sold out for tournament week. Lot of Danes will be there.

Another hotel which judging by the name ought to be similar but I don't know of anyone who stays there is the Monte Cristo, studios for 2 persons, about 100 euro/night, 2-room apartments for 4, about 120 euro/room/night:

Adagio City Aparthotel Monaco Monte Cristo; Rue Des Martyrs De La Résistance, 06240 Beausoleil

Some of the Germans used to stay every year at a place outside Monte Carlo, not too expensive and not too inconvenient if you had a car -- don't recall what other transportation options there were. I could probably dig out the name if that's something you'd be interested in.
