Theoretical question: correct double below doubling point

Since the cube will be on 2 virtually everytime we lose (whether we cube ourselves or not), it makes sense that we want to ensure that it is on 2 when we win as well. There is almost no downside (yes, we can roll 44 or something...).

In other words, we get the benefit of depriving our opponent of sending a very efficient cube. In a way, this implies that we win the game more often when we have cubed compared to when we haven't (assuming he doubles us out otherwise, which he seems to not quite be able to do, but still).
