You have White outboarded 5:1 and are a mile ahead in the race, so you are in superblitz mode now despite the 3 checkers back. Denying White an anchor is key. If you hit, you have two checkers back but if White rolls a 2 he anchors up. Of course if White rolls a 6 after you shift he may be able to get around the board without further contact, but if he gets hit anywhere along the way he's done.

It's not like White is going to try to outrace you here. He basically has to hit checkers and contain them. He has a better shot of doing that from well-timed -point anchor game than from a frenzied scramble with no board after coming in with one on the 6.
