Unless I'm missing some sarcasm, your question itself encodes a huge misconception. There is any reason to sacrifice any amount of equity "for the golden point". Equity (if measured accurately) already includes the value of the golden point, so XG saying another move is better by so much equity is saying that whatever else is happen is worth that much more than making the 20 point.

The only reason to question it is if you have some reason to think XG might be *wrong* by that much in its estimation of the equity which seems pretty far fetched here and also easily answered with a strong rollout.
