My statement is not contradictory. Diagram the sentence, consult a dictionary, and use a bit of logic.
Had I said "leave the game alone and put clocks on all matches" you might have had a weak argument.
The change to the dynamic of the game occasioned by clocking all matches is only to the good. The 'slow player dynamic' (what an oxymoron) of the game only serves to slow tournament progression and makes the game boring for all -- opponents, observers, potential players, potential tv audiences, etc. IMHO, we can do without their slow 'dynamic'.
Give it up, slow play is detrimental to the game.
