White has a single checker back. Blue's going to want to attack that checker at some point. Making the 5 point would help maximize the effectiveness of that attack. White will likely also be trying to hit loose on her 5 point. Making the offensive 5 point will make this loose hitting more dangerous. All in all, I don't think white's immediate attacking chances are great enough to merit making the anchor over developing your own board. You should have chances down the road to make an anchor (although maybe not as good an anchor as you could make now). Make the offensive 5 point.
