Normally, the three point is a POS, but here it sees daylight and white isn't going to make the sixteen point any time soon. So it looks sound.

OTOH, stepping up to the four point gives blue a better chance to escape now. But blue doesn't lack for timing so a waiting game may be to his advantage.

then there's the question of what to do with the blot on the eight. Move it to safety with 8/6? Leave it where it is? Slot the bar point? I'll leave it where it is so as to not dupe sixes and make fives play well.

So, yeah, making the three point would be my play. No confidence at all that it's best.
