Hi!

Awesome! Looking forward to it! :-)

The 'State-of-the-art' ad combined with something that was perhaps not spot on was just too tempting not to comment on. Sorry about that!

Naming of the videos has been mentioned which still hasn't been fixed. A better approach has also been mentioned (just go back to how it was done earlier).

In addition I guess it could be mentioned that merging videos into one video instead of a lot of video parts is better as you won't fill up the youtube channel with a lot of video parts instead of fewer single full match videos. You can do this with different video editing software like "Movie Maker" and others. I saw a mention of http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ but I haven't tried that one. One tricky issue here can be that it may be slower to upload the video to youtube if the video isn't in the format that is directly supported by youtube.

Another improvement that can be done is to cut down some videos with long pauses in order to avoid scaring off any potential transcribers. For instance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Uf1lyBX3WA

"3 hours? OMG Pass!" :-) but it turns out the actual match is much smaller. A quick scan suggests that the actual match was around 1 hour.

The match is already in the transcription section on Backgammon Studio:

run! :-)

Looks like I have transcribed a couple of MCG's matches. He can thank me later! :-)

This also shows how to find matches in this section. Click Find and enter a string and click enter. Ah. How do you do that on a tablet? I'll add a search button here (then again how do you transcribe matches on a tablet?...)

You can enter anything here so if you're looking for matches from Chicago Open:

Chicago can thank me later! hehe

Adding new videos to the match transcription section could also be one way to get help on transcribing matches. Currently there aren't that many who are eager to transcribe matches (I think I did a couple of hundred but I lost count) but with more users to the server this could improve. I also grant 1 month premium for anybody who transcribes & uploads a match as a small token reward.

Backgammon Studio The Swiss Army knife of backgammon!

Best regards,
TP
