A technically accurate solution for transcriptions.

We developed chips with xfid sensors and the computer picked them up perfectly. But we had a problem with the chips were stacked. We also had a problem with the dice, but you won't believe how we solved that: a gyroscope inside the die so the computer can read which side is up. And that worked.

But the program still had problems with stacked checkers and illegal moves. Yes, we went to electronic dice and made the P40 dicer, and it works great, but so many people don't like or trust electronic dice (it can easily be proven that done right you are less likely to be cheated or get unfair rolls electronically, but that's another story). And of course, electronic dice, like the Dicer or BG Buddy are so easy to see when streaming (or transcribing).

So we went to camera-based, but the problem was still with stacked checkers and illegal moves. We solved the stacked checkers by using two cameras, and we solved illegal moves by having a warning light and beep (players would have to play legal moves for the automatic transcription).

Everything is still in the works and as the world knows, we are not the only ones working on an automatic transcription program, and I have seen demos of others. I am sure we will have a full, working program in the next year, but I thought we would have one 2 years ago, so don't count on it.

Sorry, Jacob, the Beezma board has many problems, and we have discussed this, but you still continue to say that is the answer. It clearly is not for many reasons, though I greatly respect your efforts and enthusiasm for your ideas (including your Fair Backgammon approach which will also never be adopted for many reasons.)
