I look forward to seeing the improve Beezma board. As for the other types of competition and variations, I love trying new snd different ways to challenge our minds this way. Unfortunately most diehard backgammon players not only fear and resist change, but many even “attack” people like you (and me) that offer changes and variations by saying things like:

Its already a great game, why make any changes; You must not love the game or you wouldn’t want to change it.

My answer is that virtually anything can be improved (eg the doubling cube and crawford rule) and variations are simply fun and adds a challenge.
