I agree with everything, however for someone who is already a 3.x player, it wouldn't be so hard to boost their PR average into low 3 or high 2 territory by some smart cherry picking. All it would take is to send you some of my very best matches throughout the years, but of course what’s the point in doing that? :) Again, someone could do it and I just hope we could prevent it somehow or at least make it more transparent if it happens.

I’ve been recording a lot of my live tournament matches for the last few years and have some really cool matches against some of the best players in the world. I even thought about submitting some of them, but I decided not to simply because I want to avoid any cherry picking. For me there are only 2 fair approaches when submitting your own matches: you either submit ALL matches that you have ever recorded and transcribed (including your worst ones) or you submit zero. Everything in between can be considered a form of cherry picking.

Problem with submitting all of my matches is that I would need to get permission from my opponents. When you massively outplay someone how would they feel if I asked them: Hey, can I post this match for everyone to see? :) I am pretty sure many would refuse and some might say yes out of politeness, but would actually hate it. I think I would make a lot of people uncomfortable with that question and again many of my matches would still be missing. So for that reason I’ve decided not to submit any of my privately recorded matches.

Btw, I do like to see my matches appear in BG Studio and am looking forward to having some of my future matches streamed at live tournaments. I may do some BMAB submissions as well (hoping to upgrade my GM3 to GM2 at least :)) and will definitely send you these matches if I do.
