It depends. If your advantage is solely in terms of gammon wins (e.g. 50% of the games you win, all gammons, 50% of the games you lose, all singles), you should not redouble because the re-redouble to 8 kills the gammons. If on the other hand you have a solid advantage and are a clear favorite to win the game, then the re-recube magic does not work, and then you will benefit from activating gammons to win the match.
There is a large in between area that is a bit grey. In general, I don't like cubing if the mindless strategy of taking and recubing no matter what is sufficient to justify the take.
I you have Robertie's book discussing the match between Dwek and Genud, there is a section that discusses the -4 -4 matchscore. That is relevant here as well.
