Don't worry about the standard excuses or witty replies, it's sheer laziness and nothing more. If you're holding a tournament you know at least half the players very well. You even know a few of them are backgammon whores, comfortable with computers, and you could simply ask "Hey Phil, if you get time tonight could you fill out bgbrackets.com?" There is no shortage of people who would do that if asked, esp. if you broke it down further to only filling out one event per person asked. You could ask multiple people and whoever got around to it first, great! Making it way too complicated...or someone from staff could still do it.

You could even just take a picture w/your phone of the brackets and text it to someone like me. I know how 'incredibly busy' the staff is' having seen them every tournament I've been to, too busy to take 4 pictures and send a couple texts?
