Various directors have developed algorithms and tables to address the issues and simplify the process -- so it is not totally from scratch and unplanned; however, there are considerable permutations. I'm not sure Matt or others could/would integrate such complexity into a bgbrackets.com type site.

The point is they are not simple, off the shelf, standardized brackets. Many such standardized brackets exist and we have all used them in various situations. But they don't currently address unique situations.
