What was surprising to me was the extent to which they invade your privacy. It apparently goes way beyond what you may post on the Facebook. To use Stick's analogy about BGO, you may all surmise my PR from my comments on this site, but, as far as I know, Stick isn't tracking all my phone calls and movements with the GPS in my phone. Also, as far as I know, Stick hasn't become a billionaire from this site, so the analogy may be a bit imperfect.

Personally, I think it's amazing that people have willingly handed over powers that most dictators would have gone to great lengths to extract from their people, and the already known results are horrific. God only knows what we haven't found out yet. Well, Cambridge Analytica knows I guess. As far as omniscience, maybe the same thing. But everyone has to decide for themselves. Or at least have the illusion of deciding for themselves.
