Baffle Boxes

You won't get me to use a baffle box, but you will definitely get me to let you use one, if the rules permit us to split the difference that way. Same with anyone else, too!

If someone is having wrist problems as Tuvi is, they might want to consider that repetitive stress, making the same motions over and over, is also a source of joint trauma. I've had this problem with my upper back, but it was from hedge-trimming and fruit-tree-pruning, nothing to do with backgammon. So the right PT for me is less farm work and more backgammon, right? >>

I do trust baffle boxes to randomize the dice to the point where nobody can point to any problem, even if the mathematicians quibble with us about exactly what "random" means. I prefer not to use one, though if they come up with one that tosses the dice high in the air from a distance, like a tennis ball machine, so that the box doesn't take up room at the board, that would be too cool not to do. But at the board I just want a clock (yes, definitely!) and a scoreboard if the match is being streamed.

Back to Tuvi and the wrist problem: If they make you wear braces and you don't like their medical look, I have awesome covers for them that you can borrow for Novi if you want. But on second thought, they might be unsafe to wear in Michigan, because they are "Scarlet and Gray"!
