In Response To: Baffle Boxes--Good reasons not to use them--and a plea to Mary Hickey (Phil Simborg)

I've tried them and simply found them wanting for me personally. I actually do worry about RSI from making that same motion, the same way, over and over. It's much easier to vary one's motions when rolling dice with a cup, without any of the problems you mention. It's not difficult at all to roll them different directions without them leaving the board, the table, the room, or the building.

I don't say that nobody else should use them. Can't we agree to disagree?

But not on everything, of course. I've said elsewhere on this board that I totally support the right of a director to impose a baffle box on people who can't figure out how to shake dice in a lipped cup and roll them out without bouncing them off the board, or without them moving enough after they leave the cup. And according to the new USBGF rules (Page 9, 4th paragraph), actual cheaters will, as before, be boiled in oil.

(I made up that last part, but were you wondering? I haven't read the newest version of the rules yet, either.)
