The choice seems to be either enter and hit, hoping to win going forward, and enter and play safely hoping that you have enough timing to build a board and get a late shot.

The latter seems to be more plausible. Plus the match score says to me that running off the forward anchor invites too many gammons. I'd be more inclined to hit at DMP.

So, after bar/24 I make the prosaic 11/5 since I don't want to bury checkers on the ace or deuce. Maybe 8/2 or 7/1 gives less burial in the long run, in which case I'd make one of those. I'm not too concerned with being hit on the 7 or 8.
