Blue has a racing lead and will not be able to hold the 18 forever. With 2 blots in White's inner board, it is tempting to run, but 18/8 leaves White 26 hit and cover something numbers. The two safe plays for Blue (8/2 8/4 and 7/1 6/2) are both very ugly. There is a lot of play left in this game and we need to have a playable position. How about 9/3 7/3? This leaves White only 7 very good numbers. Our 18 point is some insurance against a blitz. 9/3 7/3 for me.
