But I observed that there are also a good amount of rolls that lead to below 20 rolls, too. OTB I'd just take the average and expect to not be off by more than 2 rolls, which is roughly 5%.

I can see now I've made a mistake in the sum, too. Counting 4 full winning rolls first leave only 32/36 chance to reach the White's turn. So in my previous post it should go 4 + 32/36 x 5/6 x 24 or about 22 rolls for roughly 61% GWC.

Anyway, that's what I'd do OTB. Probably much too imprecise process to give a reasonable answer though. I'm interested how others would estimate the GWC other than by brute force counting precisely all cases roll after roll (for me that would be too much error prone and time consuming OTB). Maybe some short race ref pos?
