I think we win only slightly less gammons after running to the 14pt whereas it's soo much better if White enters (and misses). 1 additional shot doesn't have such an impact IMO as if we stay back White's [64] is also not very good to us whereas after running all the way White's all misses are very bad.

I'd run all the way. I think it's well worth the 1 extra shot. I'd guess like 4-5% more wins and can't imagine winning 2x more gammons than that after the other play.
