This is not necessarily relevant to this case

I find this conversation interesting, but not necessarily relevant to the facts.
If someone commits a murder, but there is not enough evidence to indict for several years, then it is proper that the trial is several years after the crime.
If someone is indicted, but their own attorneys create delays so that they can get more supporting evidence in their favor, and if it is the defendant that needs and wants significant delays before going to trial, in order to get a fair trail (in their opinion), to me that seems like the state has not violated the concept of a speedy trial.
Do any of you know exactly why it has taken so long from the time Rod was arrested to the time trial started? To suggest that his rights may have been violated without knowing the facts is not fair. At the same time, since I don't know all the facts, I am not about to say that his rights have not been violated...I cannot make a judgment either way, and I doubt any of you can either.
OJ Simpson was found innocent. That will not stop me from always believing he committed the crime...just that it was not properly proved in that particular court.
If Rod is found innocent, given the information I have read, unless there is new information to the contrary, I will feel the same way I do about OJ.
When people ask me about Rod, my response is: "I wouldn't like him even if he didn't kill his wife." The man has said and done despicable things to his children, his family, to individuals in backgammon, and to the USBGF as an organization. I know this from first hand experience.
I hope justice is done. And if they can't prove he did it and convict, I will still be very happy we live in a country where you must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
