This is not necessarily relevant to this case

I said nothing about Rod's rights being violated in the US. Different jurisdiction than Canada. I happened to point out that between formal charges and a trial you've got 30 months here in Canada. I didn't say from the time of the crime to trial. I said from the time of the *charges*, not the crime.
Had Rod allegedly committed this crime in Canada today and this same timeline played out - in Canada his Charter rights would have been violated since the time from formal charges and his trial was over 30 months (closer to 40) and the charges would have been dropped.
I personally don't know if Rod is guilty or innocent. I have no skin in the game, but I do presume him to be innocent until a court of law finds otherwise. I have read all the tabloid articles, and have read hat has been released in the press including the inadmissible stuff. I personally think Rod comes across as a sleazy scumbag but that doesn't necessarily make him a murderer.
