Running a RO proves the point, unfortunately it does not explain it. There's a feature in backgammon called TIMING. I remember in one of my early posts at its mention "WHATS TIMING" !!! was exclaimed. The more timing one has the more control one has to walk a prime. Obviously having a man put on the bar increases timing. Leaving two blots 55% rather than one 30% a small gamble won produces a favourable result. Its is probable in this position that there is a very small increase in bad rolls which is offset by the benefits that can be enjoyed. Get your head around timing. When you understand it mostly just looking is enough no calculation required.
