holding game?

I'm not sure why nobody has tackled this yet, I was waiting to give my five cents worth until others did but I can only wait so long.
Candidate plays:
- 6/2* 4/2
- 13/9 13/11
- 8/6 8/4
Out of the 3 the one I'm quickest to dismiss is 8/6 8/4. Clearing the 8pt isn't something we're worried about so the gap it creates makes it even harder for us to bring our men home safely.
Paying now with 13/11 13/9 leaves 15 shots, a bit more than I like to leave in a pay now situation. I'm comfortable with 11 or 12 in most scenarios, anything over that I feel there has to be a real need to pay now. 6/4* 4/2 leaves the minimum number of shots and is a semi pay now, for lack of a better term.
What do I mean by semi pay now? Well - it's a 4pt board, so all the times that my opponent fans immediately I shouldn't have much of a problem bringing the position home. I'll have plenty of covers, or worst case scenario, pick up the blot numbers. Once I cover it's a 5pt board & yada yada yada. Another variation is where my opponent enters on the 5pt. We're better off than we previously were since now we can continue our attack if the dice permit us and we also have more room to play behind our opponent's defensive forces.
I think 4 less immediate shots and what seems like the same ease (if not easier) cleanup after 6/2* 4/2 makes it the standout play.
