i wish to see some variants here, for example when white is not traling by 71 pips but by less and / or when whites board is stronger. or he has a bit more a prime, i guess that makes a big differences. here i guess you really want to avoid him playing a 1,2 backgame. that would increase his chances a lot. if he rolls a 2 immediately then anyway you would have to hit with a 6 (i guess). and when you are not slotting you give him several attempts to come in on the 2 or roll 2 aces. on the other hand when he doesnt come in on the 2 point then you are also not hit and the checkers on the 8 point dont do much in case you decide for 13/7
