You definitively want to hit. If you leave White alone, White will do any combination of covering, hitting and splitting, and with luck may be able to win going forward (and if that fails, fall back on some holding / backgame). That is the main danger, so hit.

If you hit B/24*, you are not going to sit there and potentially be blocked. So you play B/20* either hitting one or two. Between those two options, I am inclined to hit two, but not sure. It is best to ruin White's chances of going forward, but recycling the checker on the 24 is costly, and we may give White some timing.
