Well, "significantly" is a matter of opinion. At DMP, dropping 0.020 means decreasing your match-winning chances by 1%, which some might consider significant.

I have no quibble with your intuitive reasoning about 3/5/7 versus 4/5/6, but I have never seen that argument made in writing before. Instead, I have always seen 4/5/6 being described as the ideal bearoff position.
