Good data. TY . I feel I had 1 of 3 correct, picked the top play but had the other two wrong as far as thinking the hit was well better than the switch.

I think the alternate is very different from the original. Now white has a chance to prime or have Blue enter on the ace. Which then makes the inflexibility matter MUCH more. And somewhat more likely for Blue to enter if hit (maybe not as the ace may get covered anyway) and also crack.

So I think they are too different of positions to really be a 'slight change' reference position. I tried to post some gnu backgammon rollouts of a couple variants last night but had to learn how to do the export. I'll try later.

I found this one interesting even if others didn't. I thought hit (not sure why I thought 6/3 with the hit 7/1*, picking up 7/4 is clearly better) or stack were close. Missed badly that switch was a contender.
