Effect of match score on checker play?

Hit and to the 13 looks like my auto response to this one. Can't allow opponent to roll a 6 and hope to hit the checker back. Not much gammon here I think? 2-6 from the bar never happens! :-)

Another interesting question would you hit if opponent 6 point was also closed? I think I would as I have seen a few positions where if you are behind in the race you still hit loose in your homeboard even with an opponent closed board.
