Oh I wanted to mention one other thing. You are right that the success against KataGo is using adversarial techniques. But it's not DeepMind who would care, because DeepMind did not create KataGo. For more about KataGo, see Accelerating Self-Play Learning in Go by David J. Wu, which also begins to address your comment about big companies being the only ones with sufficient computational resources.
